Balance and Menopause
Hot flashes are one of the common symptoms of the
menopausal change as the body naturally rebalances the
hormonal levels during that period in life. This may
be during menopause, premature menopause, or induced
menopause. They can also occur at times other than
menopause if there are significant changes in hormonal
levels.
Usually the face becomes flushed and red and there is
suddenly a feeling of being very warm or hot in the face,
neck, and/or chest. This may also be accompanied by
perspiration, chill, or an increased heart rate. The
intensity and frequency varies widely with different
individuals. Some experience very uncomfortable hot
flashes multiple times a day where others may have mild
annoying experiences only multiple times a week. Hot
flashes with intense perspiration at night are called night
sweats.

Simply stated using the supplements in the
Life Long Wellness
pack coupled with hormone balancing oils such as Clary Sage
and the blends Balance and Whisper have provided excellent
long term relief. Here are some successful protocols:
•
Apply Whisper to the ears daily or more often.
•
Horrible hot flashes - apply Whisper and Ylang Ylang to neck
and ears (like perfume) morning and night.
•
Balance, Clary Sage (Geranium even worked better), and
Peppermint on the back of the neck every morning.
Reapply Geranium and Peppermint mid afternoon or more often
if needed.
Symptoms. For relief during a hot
flash episode Peppermint applied to the back of the neck
(and even the soles of the feet) has an immediate cooling
effect.
Experiences and Testimonials of others
Brenda - I know a
lady experiencing hormonal issues. Usually, when
people get on the Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang and Peppermint on
their feet, they haven't had any hot flashes. She is
doing this and still is having them and I don't know what to
try next. She is also experiencing some tightness in
her neck and chest that she thinks is from stress. She
says Breathe helps a little.
Pat - She needs to try Balance and/or
Whisper
Deb - In addition to those oils, I have
found that nutrition plays a big part of it. The LLV
is a great product for that.
Cindy - Frankincense works amazingly for
me. I found this out when I started adding a drop of
Frankincense to my moisturizer. Hot flashes stopped. When I
stopped the Frankincense, the hot flashes started again. I
have been out of Frankincense for about a week, and the
flashes have started up again.
Kristi - I have had great success
controlling hot flashes with Whisper and Ylang Ylang in the
morning and before bed, I wear them on my neck, by my ears,
just like perfume, and my hot flashes are controlled. BTW,
my hot flashes were horrible!
Ann - Can I use
Balance, Peppermint and Clary Sage as a replacement as a
daily estrogel use?
Jeannie - I started having hot flashes
last April and they were gosh awful. I didn't want to use
synthetic drugs nor bio-identical replacements. I began
with Balance on the back of my neck, along with Clary Sage
and Peppermint every morning, then by 3:00pm I usually need
to reapply the Clary Sage and Peppermint. It wasn't giving
me the relief I desired so I switched to Geranium instead of
Clary Sage and have been relatively free from hot flashes
since (as long as I use them consistently), If I get hot, I
apply the Peppermint to keep a hot flash from coming on. I
also smell divine and get lots of compliments from the
Geranium scent!
I am not sure of your entire situation or medical history
but I am totally comfortable using these oils in lieu of any
type of estrogen replacement. I highly recommend this
protocol.
Brooke - I have a friend who at lease
for 3 months after she gets an AromaTouch Technique doesn't
have any hot-flashes! May not work for everyone - but just
an idea!
Rosemary - Before there was doTERRA, I
and many of my friends were on a nutritional product that
stopped our hot flashes. I am now doing the LLV and the Slim
and Sassy shakes and still have had no hot flashes. I
believe proper nutrition plays a big part.
Debbie - My brother -in -law was flat in
bed for three solid weeks with a back injury. He is 52 years
old. His wife was so scared, she enrolled in nursing
school worrying that he could possibly be disabled.
He called me desperate. I sent Balance, Lemongrass,
and Peppermint. He could not afford much. His
wife was debilitated with hot flashes. They were so
bad she didn’t even want to go to church and she is
president of a church organization and needs to be there! I
also sent Clary Sage for her. They called me within
one day after having received and used the oils. They
were all but in tears. My brother -in -law was out of
bed, working and lifting. Her hot flashes were
completely gone after one day's use.
Brooke – I have a
question from a friend. She suffers from severe
hot-flashes to the point her flesh feels like it is burning.
She sweats profusely during the night, and is really
struggling with this. She is starting the LLW, but are
there any other suggestions. I tried to watch the
presentation of Dr. Hill's (the Hormone Webinar #1), but the
presentation cuts out less than half-way through and I
didn't get to hear very much. Any thoughts are
appreciated!
Sue - The oils I use to help are
Balance, Whisper and Frankincense along with doing the
AromaTouch Technique. I would recommend the advise in Dr
Hill's Hormonal talk. She sounds like she is on the right
track starting on the LLW. I would suggest the GX and
PX program as well. Get her to do a saliva test to see where
her Progesterone level is at. I bet is super low. Which
means her estrogen will be high. If she is having hot
flashes she is probably having other symptoms as well. From
anxiety, bloating, mood swings, depression, and sugar
cravings. All covered in Dr Hill's talk.
Ellen - This is what has helped me
tremendously-- In the morning I put Balance and Peppermint
on my neck/shoulder area and Clary Sage on my forearms.
Before bed, I put Clary Sage on both my ankles. It took
about 1-2 weeks before I noticed that it was actually
helping. But, now I'm sold on it. It has helped
me sooo much and I would recommend anyone try it.
Brooke - Thanks! Keep up the info!
I also heard from someone that she had a lady that put a
drop of Whisper behind each of her ears 20 minutes before
bed and it took care of the night sweats....just a thought!
Lisa - Any suggestions for Pre Menopause
symptoms?
Jan - I know that Whisper behind the
ears works well for hot flashes. Also Clary Sage around the
ankles is good for keeping hormone levels up.
Joni - Emily taught that Peppermint
right at the base of the neck will stop a hot flash. Not
two minutes after she mentioned that I had to go grab my
Peppermint for my own hot flash, it worked wonders.
I have noticed a huge decrease in hot flashes since being
on the wellness pack. They are now few and far between, and
when it does happen, it is very mild.
I was also advised to use Marjoram and Clary Sage in the
crooks of my elbows and the back of my knees to help balance
hormones.
Debbie - Does
anyone have a good regimen for serious hot flashes? My
sister-in-law wakes up in heavy sweats in the night.
Anon - Using the Wellness
Pack supplements will eventually help balance hormones after
some time, but for more immediate results Clary Sage will do the
trick for hot flashes. Also consider the Whisper blend.
Simply rub your ears, front and back, and your lobes with the
oil or blend.
Pat - These will make a huge difference in hormone balance but if
in the mean time hot flashes do occur put Peppermint on the back
of the neck and forehead. The Peppermint will provide a
cooling effect.
Jenyce - I haven't had any personal experiences with hot flashes
(yet), but have heard of Peppermint, Geranium, and Lemon working
great. Maybe applying them to the back of neck and feet would be
good. As for Clary Sage, that can influence hormone balance so
that will help, along with Cypress and the Balance blend. Mix it
with a carrier oil and massage into abdomen, lower back, and
feet.
Monica - According to Emily Wright, the Whisper blend is an excellent
hormone balancer, to help keep things on an even keel, so to
speak. Peppermint is of course cooling. I've got a
friend in the throes of hot flashes, so we've been putting
Peppermint on the brain stem area and soles of her feet; Whisper
on the reproductive reflex points on her feet and lower
abdomen. So far, so good.
Brooklyn - Are there any oils for Hot
Flashes?
Lynda - Clary Sage is supposed to be
very good for that. You can also try Balance orYlang Ylang. Give it some time though,
Lil - Never had one, but heard a few
times that women use Peppermint successfully.
Pat - I know that Clary Sage works well.
Terri went off her estrogen patch and used Clary Sage
exclusively. Also Peppermint really cools you off.
Tamalu - We have a beautiful friend who
applied Whisper to her ears and completely eliminated her
hot flashes. After learning of this, we have several on our
team who have duplicated it, with identical results. Smells
great, too! It's worth a try.
Rob - Wow, how cool is that. Made me
wish I had hot flashes. While on the subject of Whisper.
Men, try Whisper as a cologne with a drop of Clove,
Frankincense and/or Vetiver to "man it up" a bit. It's
awesome!!
